Wungong Brook - South Western Highway

The condition of the Wungong Brook - South Western Highway (site code: WUNG4A), in the upper catchment of the Wungong River  (downstream of the Wungong Reservoir) was assessed over a 100-m length of stream on 12 and 13 February and 13 and 14 May 2014.

The assessment was conducted using standard methods from the South West Index of River Condition. Measures chosen for this assessment included fish and crayfish, aquatic habitat, water quality (dissolved oxygen, temperature, electrical conductivity, and pH logged over 24h), fringing vegetation, channel morphology, erosion, connectivity, local land use and flow.

Fish and crayfish

Five fish and two crayfish species were found at this site in 2014 (combination of both sampling events), including two exotic fish.
